Hey, Crazy...

Birthdays are usually good for one thing - food. There are thoughtful gifts and loads of greetings, but most importantly, food. Glorious, glorious food.

When it comes to makan for my birthday, as usual, I am quite adventurous with the food theme - so far I have had Mediterranean (lovely), Korean (yummy), Italian (cheesy), Japanese (fresh), Spanish (delicate) and German (tasty) types of cuisine.

As a change, I had something Chinese this year at Ah Yat Abalone. It was an 8-course dinner served in small portions. The fares include abalone *oh, this is my favorite!*, sea cucumber *i skipped this yucky looking thing*, real shark fin soup *unlike those you get at chinese weddings*, salmon *loved the sauce*, drunken tiger prawn and there's even this soup called Buddha Jumps Over The Wall *didn't he see the door?* which was fantastico!

The entire selections tasted so mmmmmmm.... sedaaaaapnye! Great food, typical chinese decor, great food, great company, great food, great food, food, f-o-o-d. You get it? No? I'm hungry already.

At the end of all this makan-ing sessions, *well I still have another 4 more sessions to claim*, I think my perut would be stretched by another 10 inches kua. My gaaawd! That's the bitter reality of being a foodoholic - dreaming about things to eat while resisting temptations!

I also had a homemade cake thanks to Ming Ming who baked me a cute chocolate raisin cake. It’s so delicious, because it’s homemade, because it’s free and because it’s for me.

Oh and before I forget - happy birthday to Malaysia kita. Be good to your people.
